9,493 reported Covid cases in PH, February 1, 2022

Of the 9,493 reported cases today, 6,961 (73%) occurred within the recent 14 days (January 19 - February 1, 2022). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,041 or 15%), Region 4-A (775 or 11%) and Region 3 (696 or 10%).

*Of the 51 deaths, 50 occurred in January 2022 (98%), and 1 in September 2021 (2%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya. This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date.*

30 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 17 are recoveries.

Moreover, 16 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

*All labs were operational on January 30, 2022. However 10 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Based on data in the last 14 days, the 10 labs contribute, on average, 5.5% of samples tested and 4.4% of positive individuals.*
