7,661 Reported Covid-19 cases today, Feb 2, 2022 in PH

Of the 7,661 reported cases today, 5,806 (76%) occurred within the recent 14 days (January 20 - February 2, 2022). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were Region 6 (896 or 15%), NCR (873 or 15%) and Region 4-A (694 or 12%).

*Of the 43 deaths, 26 occurred in January 2022 (60%), 3 in December 2021 (7%), 1 in November 2021 (2%), 5 in September 2021 (12%), 4 in August 2021 (9%), 3 in July 2021 (7%), and 1 in June 2021 (2%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya. This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date.*

28 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 18 are recoveries.

Moreover, 28 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
