Of the 16,953 reported cases today, January 30, 2022, 16,647 (98%) occurred within the recent 14 days (January 17 - January 30, 2022). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were Region 6 (2,000 or 12%), NCR (1,967 or 12%) and Region 4-A (1,871 or 11%).

Of the 20 deaths, 16 occurred in January 2022 (80%), 1 in October 2021 (5%), 1 in September 2021 (5%), 1 in August 2021 (5%), and 1 in July 2021 (5%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya. This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date.

69 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 43 are recoveries.

Moreover, 8 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
