15,789 reported Covid 19 cases in PH - January 26, 2022

Of the 15,789 reported cases today, 15,061 (95%) occurred within the recent 14 days (January 13 - January 26, 2022). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were Region 4-A (2,248 or 15%), NCR (2,135 or 14%) and Region 7 (1,520 or 10%).

Of the 66 deaths, 65 occurred in January 2022 (98%), and 1 in August 2021 (2%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya. This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date.

142 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 80 are recoveries.

Moreover, 10 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All labs were operational on January 24, 2022. However 3 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Based on data in the last 14 days, the 3 labs contribute, on average, 0.1% of samples tested and 0.1% of positive individuals.
