14,546 reported Covid cases today in PH, January 31, 2022

Of the 14,546 reported cases today, 10,203 (70%) occurred within the recent 14 days (January 18 - January 31, 2022). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were Region 11 (1,381 or 14%), NCR (1,053 or 10%) and Region 7 (973 or 10%).

*Of the 112 deaths, 107 occurred in January 2022 (96%), 2 in November 2021 (2%), 2 in October 2021 (2%), and 1 in May 2021 (1%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya. This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date.*

24 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 11 are recoveries.

Moreover, 33 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
